March

It's one of those tired hackney statements. It's one of those cliche openers. However, since I've also been known to be one of those cliche writers, it will work for the opening of my latest post.

It's amazing how much things can change within the span of one year. This time last year I was settling in for the night in my new apartment with my then boyfriend, preparing myself both mentally and physically for my first day at my new job. Last year's February had left me with a new place and a new job. I was very proud of myself, considering February is the shortest month of the year. Go me! March brought with it some further changes to my life. Last March, April and May were some of the worst months of my 25 plus years. We'll leave it at that.

Currently I am back at home, working in Boston and enjoying my comfortable and predictable life.

Welcome back March. So nice to see you. Well not really but... Hello March. Prepare to be treated with reckless abandon.

March came in with a bang and a kick in the groin.

Okay March, I was willing to treat you this year with open arms, even despite our indiscretions these past couple of years, but you've really outdone yourself this time. In 2009 you took from me momentarily my sense of self-respect. In 2010 you took from me momentarily my sense of balance. And now in 2011 you have taken from me momentarily my good health. What would you like to take from me now? There's not much left for you to steal from me in the early hours of the month that is to be my least desired because of your past transactions.
